Behaviour and Training Programme Terms and Conditions

1. About These Terms

1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all dog training and behaviour programmes, including 1:1 sessions (“Services”) provided by [Your Business Name] (“we”, “us”, “our”).

1.2 By booking and purchasing any programme or session, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

1.4 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

2. Training Locations

2.1 Most training sessions take place in your home or local area, as this is where behaviour problems typically occur.

2.2 Training in real-life environments allows us to address behaviour where it actually happens.

2.3 Depending on the issue, sessions may take place:

  • In your home

  • On your usual walking routes

  • In local parks or public spaces

  • Occasionally at a quiet training location where appropriate

2.4 The first session will take place at your home.

2.5 Training locations may change throughout the programme based on your dog’s behaviour and training goals.

3. Purpose of Training and No Guarantees

3.1 Our programmes are designed to help you understand your dog and create long-term behaviour change.

3.2 No specific results or outcomes are guaranteed.

3.3 Dog behaviour is influenced by factors outside our control, including:

  • Owner consistency

  • Dog history and genetics

  • Environment

  • Health or medical conditions

3.4 We provide professional guidance, structured plans, and support to give you the best chance of success.

3.5 Progress depends heavily on consistent implementation of training between sessions.

4. Following Trainer Advice

4.1 You agree to follow the guidance, exercises, and management strategies provided.

4.2 Progress depends on:

  • Consistency

  • Practice between sessions

  • Implementation of advice

4.3 Failure to follow guidance may limit or prevent results.

5. Equipment

5.1 We may provide or recommend equipment for training.

5.2 You agree to use all equipment strictly as instructed.

5.3 Incorrect or inconsistent use of equipment may impact results and safety.

6. WhatsApp and Email Support (Fair Use)

6.1 Some programmes include support via WhatsApp or email.

6.2 This support is designed for:

  • Quick questions

  • Progress updates

  • Short videos (up to 3 minutes)

  • Clarification of training exercises

6.3 Support is client-initiated and does not include phone calls.

6.4 Responses are provided during working hours and may take up to 72 hours.

6.5 This support complements sessions and does not replace them.

6.6 Where more detailed support is required, an additional session may be recommended.

6.7 This service operates under a fair use policy. Excessive or inappropriate use may result in support being limited or reviewed.

6.8 All communication must remain respectful and relevant.

7. Photos and Videos

7.1 We may take photos or short video clips during sessions for training purposes.

7.2 These may be used for:

  • Training review

  • Educational content

  • Marketing and promotional use

7.3 We will always request permission before using any content publicly.

7.4 You may opt out of public use at any time.

8. Fees and Payment

8.1 Programmes may be paid:

  • In full

  • Via an approved payment plan

8.2 Payment plans must be active before training begins.

8.3 If a payment fails or is cancelled, future sessions will not take place until payment is resolved.

9. Programme Start Date

9.1 The programme duration (3, 6, or 12 months) begins 7 days before the first booked session.

9.2 This allows for preparation, scheduling, and access to support.

10. 14 Day Cooling-Off Period

10.1 If you purchase online or remotely, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days.

10.2 If you request training to begin within this period, you agree that:

  • Services may start immediately

  • You may be charged for any sessions or support already provided

10.3 If no sessions have taken place and no services have been used, a full refund will be issued.

11. Changing or Cancelling Appointments

11.1 Changes must be requested at least 7 days before the session.

11.2 Cancellations within 7 days will result in the session being counted as used.

11.3 No replacement session will be offered for late cancellations.

12. Refunds and Programme Use

12.1 Once a programme has started, partial refunds are not available.

12.2 Programmes are structured support packages which include:

  • Reserved session time

  • Trainer availability

  • Ongoing support access

12.3 If you choose not to continue or do not use your sessions, unused portions are not refundable.

12.4 Unused sessions and support do not carry individual cash value.

13. Programme Downgrades

13.1 Downgrades may be requested in writing.

13.2 Requests must be made at least one month before the end of the programme.

13.3 Downgrades are only permitted if session usage does not exceed the shorter programme:

  • 6 month → 3 month (max 3 sessions used, before end of month 2)

  • 12 month → 6 month (max 6 sessions used, before end of month 5)

13.4 If usage exceeds limits, downgrade is not possible.

14. Booking Responsibilities

14.1 You are responsible for booking sessions via our system.

14.2 Sessions must be booked within 3 days of the previous session.

14.3 You must attend at least one session per calendar month.

14.4 Programme structure:

  • 3 month = 3 sessions

  • 6 month = 6 sessions

  • 12 month = 12 sessions

14.5 If a full calendar month passes without a session being attended, that session is forfeited.

14.6 Forfeited sessions cannot be refunded, transferred, or carried forward.

14.7 We recommend booking sessions in advance to ensure availability.

14.8 Failure to book sessions does not guarantee availability later.

14.9 In exceptional circumstances, we may review forfeited sessions at our discretion.

15. Liability

15.1 Working with dogs carries inherent risk.

15.2 You remain responsible for your dog at all times.

15.3 We are not liable for:

  • Injury caused by your dog

  • Damage caused by your dog

  • Outcomes where training advice has not been followed

15.4 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
